Just is seeking a highly motivated and creative Associate Scientist that desires a significant opportunity to help build the technologies that will improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. This position will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to discovering therapeutic antibodies. The successful candidate will support the creation and implementation of antibody display libraries as well as assist in development of automated methodologies that drive high-throughput biotherapeutic development. A strong foundation in assay development, molecular biology, and microbiology is required for this position with additional experience in antibody discovery and automation preferred. This individual must also possess strong communication and collaboration skills, a desire to learn new scientific concepts and domains, and an ability to work directly with scientific staff across multiple disciplines.

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Build and implement next generation antibody display libraries for discovery and deep data set generation
  • Characterization of antibody libraries using Sanger sequencing, NGS, and ELISA.
  • Perform mammalian cell culture and antibody expression for discovery and multiplexed protein analytics
  • Drive improvements to high-throughput antibody discovery, including implementation of automated methodologies
  • Analyze, organize, summarize, and present data and results at department and project team meetings
  • Stay informed of science and technology developments in the field and suggest process improvements to team
  • Maintain a detailed and organized record of experiments in an electronic notebook

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BS in biology, microbiology or related field with 0-5 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Foundation of molecular biology techniques (eg PCR, cloning.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Possess effective task/time management organizational skills
  • Ability to work in small groups as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in antibody discovery processes
  • Experience with library construction
