Regeneron is looking to hire a Leader for the Target Information Group (TIG) who will collaborate closely with all of the Therapeutic Focus Areas, Technology Centers and Sr Management to evaluate new targets, technologies and provide in depth analysis of various disease mechanisms. TIG provides extensive searching of the scientific literature and proprietary databases to provide a detailed review of all relevant publications. The evaluations include genomic and gene expression analysis and a synopsis of the indicated disease state and details of the associated biological mechanisms. 

As Director, in TIG, a typical day may include:

  • Leading a small group of experienced scientists and prioritizing all TIG activities including the novel drug target ideas and all in-depth analysis activities emerging from all Therapeutic Focus Area leaders and scientists, Sr Management, Regeneron Genetics Center and TIG originated therapeutic ideas.

  • Maintaining a broad strategic view of the preclinical, discovery and clinical pipeline to provide guidance on new target and medical opportunities and how they may fit with the company’s existing therapeutics and those currently available.

  • Possessing strong fluency in all areas of biology and medicine and the ability to monitor the scientific literature and business communications for new opportunities.

  • Liaising for scientific information and project activities across the company and contribute to the creation and population of internal databases to provide current and historical information for any project, target or disease when needed to support the pipeline activities.

  • Playing a key role in the advancement of cross-functional collaborations and provide a path to enhance communication between early research activities across the company including regular interactions with all TFA heads, scientists and including those involved with later stage programs and technology platforms as appropriate.

To be considered for this position, you must possess a Ph.D. and 10+ yrs experience in the pharmaceutical, or biotech industry. This experience should include a proven track record of leading a team of senior investigators whose mission is to identify key information sources and analyze public literature, to mine gene, protein, patent and proprietary databases and to prepare concise summaries on a range of topics. Experience working with cross-functional teams or in a matrix environment is required.
