ROLE SUMMARY

The Vaccine Associate Shift Process Engineer will support projects and day to day operation of Sterile Vaccine Filling Operations.

This may include product transfer projects, cost improvement projects, capital equipment installations, Right First Time initiatives, and safety and compliance driven initiatives for Drug Product Operations.

Your expertise in the manufacturing domain will help you in communicating and directing the activities of employees in the production areas in an effective manner. You will be entrusted with addressing deviations to process problems in the production areas and manage timely equipment maintenance. You will ensure current Good Manufacturing Practices compliance, meet area performance measures, and promote employee training.

As an associate, your focus on the job will contribute in achieving project tasks and goals. Through your domain knowledge and commitment, you will create a collaborative teaming environment for your colleagues.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Contribute to completion of project milestones and organize own work to meet project task deadlines.

  • Respond to safety related items and assures corrective actions are taken when necessary.

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing efficiency, safety, quality and cost improvements on equipment and processes.

  • Promote cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance within the workplace by following site cGMP procedures.

  • Assures standard operating procedures are updated and adhered.

  • Develop appropriate metrics and action plans to ensure customer/business needs are met.

  • Manage supervision of inspection, reconciliation or dispensing and receivals of components.

  • Apply project management skills to lead and participate in cross-functional teams to deliver objectives on time.

  • The Vaccine Associate Shift Process Engineer will spend the majority of their time on the operating floor.

  • Identifies and implements cost savings ideas, specifically process efficiency improvements and other projects that increase equipment capacity.

  • Develops and validates manufacturing processes for drug products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to production, from other sites, or within the site.

  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables.

  • Investigates deviations that occur on the manufacturing floor.

  • Performs root-cause analysis and identifies appropriate, effective corrective actions.

  • Implements corrective actions in conjunction with the appropriate enabling groups, i.e. engineering, maintenance, quality, validation, environmental health and safety.

  • Leads technical improvement projects aimed at defect reduction, improved equipment reliability, and better equipment utilization.

QualificationsMust-Have
  • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with 4 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office programs, including MS Project or equivalent.

Nice-to-Have
  • Pharmaceutical experience in Operations, Engineering

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidate will be required to gown and execute responsibilities according to departmental procedures.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel

This position works a rotating schedule of (Days) 2 days on/3 off/2 on/2 off/3 on/2 off. The position will rotate to provide coverage from 0600-1800. Weekend and holiday work will be expected.
