Senior Accountant

Surrozen is recruiting a Senior Accountant role assist various functions withing accounting/finance department. Senior accountants should possess solid communication skills, detailed-oriented, self-starter, organizational and analytical skills, who can adopt to working in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, other assets and nonclinical accruals in compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Collaborate with nonclinical team to facilitate timely and accurate accounting estimates and assist in calculating non clinical accruals on a monthly basis
• Responsible for training and oversee Staff Accountant
• Review expense reports, payment runs and AP-related accruals
• Support AP process and reconcile AP and Received Not Vouchered subledgers to general ledger
• Coordinate with purchasing team and support procurement process
• Prepare and provide audit schedules for assigned areas on a timely basis
• Special projects and other tasks as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in the general ledger area and procure-to-pay process
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet the deadline in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in publicly traded companies
• Experience in Biotech/Life Science is a plus
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Team-oriented, collaborative, flexible and willing to adapt to changes in a fast-growing company
