We are currently searching for a Scientist to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC, and it is on-site in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct and participate in projects that are complex and scientifically demanding within a specific area/field in regard to vaccine development.
  • Initiate, implement, plan, direct, and execute scientific research and development while maintaining a high level of expertise through review of scientific literature.
  • Make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results. Demonstrate scientific rigor in assessing own data and that of others.
  • Effectively present results at internal meetings.
  • Independently plan, design, and execute projects within a specific scientific field utilizing good scientific judgment using a wide application of principles, theories and concepts in field of interest plus working knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Develop research findings and makes recommendations.
  • Make recommendations on outside technologies for company to pursue.
  • Make assay /testing and decisions and recommendations; conduct independent investigations; generate internal or external documents valuable to VPP; contribute to project teams.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise through review of current scientific literature and submissions to scientific journals.

 

Requirements
  • Ph.D. with five (5) or more years’ experience or Master’s degree with ten (10) or more experience or Bachelor’s degree with twelve (12) or more years of experience is required.
  • Experience conducting and participating in complex scientific projects. Prior vaccine experience, useful.
  • Ability to implement, plan and direct scientific research, and assist with analyzation of program literature.
  • Experience conducting extensive scientific investigations and experiments, required.
