Main Responsibilities
- Perform genome engineering and testing for new GEM designs and products
- Design assays for strain activity
- Participate in ideation research on new product concepts
- Run testing on existing products as part of ongoing improvement projects
- Analyze and report data to the team and the company
- Manage your lab space, inventory, and ordering Participate in tech transfer, publications, and patenting
- Prioritize projects and be flexible to meet changing business needs
- Work well both independently and in a group/team setting
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent training in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or closely related field.
- 2 or more years of experience in bacterial engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced organizational, project management, and documentation skills
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience transforming and engineering Bacillus subtilis
- Expert understanding of Bacillus spore biology
