Scientist - Bacterial Engineering

Main Responsibilities

• Perform genome engineering and testing for new GEM designs and products
• Design assays for strain activity
• Participate in ideation research on new product concepts
• Run testing on existing products as part of ongoing improvement projects
• Analyze and report data to the team and the company
• Manage your lab space, inventory, and ordering Participate in tech transfer, publications, and patenting
• Prioritize projects and be flexible to meet changing business needs
• Work well both independently and in a group/team setting

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent training in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or closely related field.
• 2 or more years of experience in bacterial engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced organizational, project management, and documentation skills

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Experience transforming and engineering Bacillus subtilis
• Expert understanding of Bacillus spore biology
