Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting all areas related to full cycle Accounts Payable.

Essential Functions

  • Helps obtain appropriate support and approval of invoices
  • Sort, code and match invoices
  • Process invoices in ERP system
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prepare electronic transfers
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and request account statements, if necessary
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Meet recurring month-end close schedule
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Support during weekly check/ACH runs including attaching payment documentation in D365
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail

Education & Experience

  • Previous work experience in Full Cycle A/P; 2 Years +
  • Microsoft D365 experience preferred
  • Courses in accounting/finance preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, ADOBE) and Accounting software packages (Microsoft D365)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while preserving the strict confidentiality of all data.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Dependable and good work ethic

Working Environment / Physical Environment

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
