We are seeking a collaborative, detail oriented individual to join the Preclinical Histology Core. You will be working in a core facility using groundbreaking histotechnologies, automation at major workflow steps, imaging instruments, and software.

In this role, a typical day may include:  

• Use of histological techniques including grossing, fixation, decalcification, embedding, for both paraffin and cryo sectioning of animal samples.

• Run histology-based assays including immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), in-situ hybridization (ISH, e.g. RNAScope), and specialized histochemical stains using stainers like Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond, or Leica Spectra.

• Lab operations including organization and order of materials and reagents required for studies and maintenance of histology equipment, as well as online and physical records of data.

• Working closely with team members to coordinate and troubleshoot multiple experiments, accommodate changing priorities and timelines, and provide updates on the progress of projects. 

This role may be for you if you have: 

• Shown history of designing, executing, and reporting histology experiments in a timely and independent manner. 

• Strong communication and social skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project within a team-first environment. 

• Exceptional attention to detail, and due diligence in project execution.  

• A passion for biology and helping others and a dedication to share, collaborate, and lift up others 

To be considered for this role, you must have minimum of an Associate degree in science and at least 4 years of histology experience. Extensive expertise with tissue processing is required. We need candidates to have solid knowledge in basic mouse/rat anatomy. Experience with pathology assessments is a plus.

Candidates should be able to multitask and have a collaborate attitude.
