What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this dynamic role you will be responsible for leading all aspects of business operations/key initiatives/ performance metric reporting and project portfolios across the organization and directly supporting the VP of External Supply. Responsibilities include:

  • Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools and enable business areas to optimize productivity and reduce rework and other wastes.
  • Work closely with the leadership team in External Supply and with the various organizations that comprise the site and will report to the Director of Performance Excellence.
  • Understands External Supply vision and mission, and enables the framework, reporting, and connectivity to help the organization achieve these goals. This will require complete understanding of the site operating model and the leadership teams goals and ensure detailed plans are in place to support those objectives.
  • Serves as the primary business owner of the operation performance metrics and reporting via electronic visual management to drive actions and results in leadership team meetings, such as Work Center Team and Business Review meetings
  • Coordination of Leadership Team and regional meetings to achieve strategic objectives
  • Carries out complex or novel assignments to improve and optimize business process performance based on Operational Excellence improvement methodologies and approach
  • Leads or supports complex high impact project with strong project management subject area to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Develops recommendations, drives decisions, and delivers presentations to key partners
  • Uses network and relationships to identify business requirements and potential opportunities to meet customer expectations
  • Possesses technical skills to use novel software (e.g. Smartsheets, Tableau, etc.) and create tools and build capabilities to allow end-to-end line of sight into resource allocations and gaps, and allow senior leadership to make decisions in real-time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Masters degree in engineering, business management or life science & 2 years of experience in operations / life science industry OR
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business management or life science & 4 years of experience in operations / life science industry OR
  • Associate's degree in engineering, business management or life science & 10 years of experience in operations / life science industry OR
  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of experience in operations / life science industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree (Science, Engineering, MBA) in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or other engineering subject area & 2 years of Operational Excellence related experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
  • 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering and/or Operational Excellence related roles
  • Minimal 2 years experience in a highly regulated business environment
  • Leader with ability to develop and work in a successful environment
  • Experience in applying Lean Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, Mistake-Proofing, Standard Work and Daily Management Systems
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across various parts of the organization
  • Adept in breaking down complex issues to enable prompt decision-making
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and use sound judgment to draw conclusions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while delivering quality results. Handle responsibilities and priorities and tasks under minimal direction
