The Global Marketing Director is a critical hybrid role in the Global Oncology Commercial Organization and has a significant impact in providing commercial leadership, strategic thinking and a One team voice in consolidating individual assets needs to a portfolio view and pull through across multiple aspects. Success in this critical role will result in substantial professional growth and advancement at Amgen.

For the growth/mature brands (60% of the role), the Global Marketing Director is responsible for driving cross-oncology marketing related activities, such as All Angles of Care Amgen Oncology campaign and messaging with, congress strategy, disease state education guidance, Design for Differentiation & Value internal training curriculum evolution, brand and business reviews, internal process innovation and best practice sharing that impact Global-to-Local model.

For the Amgen-BeiGene collaboration (40% of the role), the Global Marketing Director will provide commercial leadership with the Product Teams for three inline oncology brands (Blincyto, Kyprolis, XGEVA) to optimize our portfolio value in China and will help to prepare the China market for future oncology launches with BeiGene. You will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial operations including the implementation of the operating model, inline brand performance management, monitoring of commercial activities and market reimbursement planning, and managing the annual commercialization and budget review process.

This role will report to the Executive Director Global Marketing, Growth/Mature Brands and Amgen-BeiGene and presents a breadth of challenging and exciting responsibilities, as set forth below!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with GML, IBT, BWG selected markets to gather deep insights into the customer, marketplace, competitors, and business drivers and develop strong commercial strategy designed to maximize value of inline assets

  • Drive bold and consistent Amgen Oncology narrative, in partnership with Corp Affairs & IR

  • Oversight of development and execution of cross-oncology marketing related activities

  • Build cross TA DSE guidance, ensuring a strategic cross-portfolio approach

  • Liaise with GCC congress lead and cross-functional stakeholders to set an overall oncology congress strategy

  • Key contributor to Product Teams and supporting their needs as it relates to inline brands, China planning and China performance management

  • Embed learnings from recent brand launches to enable future Amgen pipeline programs to unlock the China opportunity. Share key learnings and QBRs with Oncology TAG at a quarterly frequency

  • Drive operational efficiencies in ABC commercial operations (Commercialization plans, NRDL planning, budgets, and forecasts) and effectively manage commercial cost sharing for the portfolio

  • Partner with Amgen Alliance Management on key initiatives that advance Amgen BeiGene Collaboration priorities and strengthen the culture

  • Support or lead the development of commercial presentations for ABC governance meetings

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience

OR

Masters degree and 6 years of marketing experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 8 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • The preferred candidate is a strong commercial executive with excellent marketing capabilities, superior cross-functional collaboration skills, the ability to operate globally and locally with highly effective influencing skills

  • A best-in-class marketer with experience developing and implementing innovative global marketing and commercial strategies for pipeline products, successfully launching therapeutic products and repositioning products to improve commercial value

  • Prior experience in a tactical, in-line marketing role, implementing marketing strategies in local markets

  • An ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, problem solve, gain alignment and driving decision making is required

  • Has worked in diverse commercial roles supporting different products in various stages of the lifecycle, with a diverse set of customers in challenging and competitive markets

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, managing projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities

  • Solid understanding of global market access, pricing, and reimbursement issues

  • Experience supporting partnered assets/programs

  • Strong experience in oncology therapeutic areas. Keen understanding of the science, market trends, and future opportunities and hurdles

  • Possesses an understanding of global market dynamics and the ability to be culturally aware by valuing different cultures and being open to embracing diverse perspectives
