What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this dynamic role you will improve Process Developments ability to deliver on the highest value opportunities by bridging the business of Amgen and the science of PD through cross-functional alignment and coordinated business insights. We do this through 4 strategic pillars: Data and Systems, Insights and Decision Support, Productivity and Financials, and Operational Strategy. Responsibilities include:

  • Using network and relationships to define, measure, analyze and challenge potential continuous improvement opportunities focusing on Hard and Soft savings requirements.
  • Analyze, evaluate and propose the right CI operating mechanism (tools, management, and sustainment plan), at each functional level aligned with beneficial work requirements.
  • Participate and collaborate with cross-functional PD collaborators and expanded OE Network in customized PDE training plan such as VSM, Six Sigma Green Belt, and RCA for PD.
  • Conduct cross-functional Process Excellence project scoping and chartering, define implementation strategy, and guide project completion
  • Processing Year over Year Productivity data
  • This role can be remote anywhere in US

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate and 2 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience. OR
  • Masters degree and 4 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
  • Bachelors degree and 6 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
  • Associates degree and 10 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or business management and 6 years of related experience in life science industry
  • Masters degree in engineering, science, or business management and 4years of related experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills including financial analysis, cost accounting, and product lifecycle management
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence, including Lean and Six Sigma, drug development across modality and function, and manufacturing, supply chain fundamentals, and risk management
  • Good eye for business, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent problem solver with ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to drive decisions
  • Efficient and diligent teammate
  • Organizational and project management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, Smartsheet
