In this vital role the Commercial Forecasting Senior Manager will lead Global Gen Med and Inflammation forecasting focusing on some of the key assets in the pipeline. This role will report to the Global Gen Med-Inflammation Commercial Forecasting Director within the Global Commercial Data & Analytics organization in Thousand Oaks, California.

Specifically, this person will:

  • Provide an objective and rigorous point of view to demand and patient based forecasting for pipeline products for the US and Ex-US markets, while collaborating with teams including forecasting/insights, marketing, finance, value and access and other global functions.
  • Independently lead quick turnaround projects and deliver quality assessments, collaborating with Senior Leadership with limited guidance or oversight.
  • Demonstrate strong project management, prioritization and timeline execution across projects when working independently as well as when working with the vendors or internal teams. Ensure all forecasts are developed with detailed rationale, assumptions and storyboarding.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, MS PowerPoint & Excel skills.
  • Support forecasting efforts at product and portfolio level and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and own the development of Long Range Plan (LRP) forecasts, ad-hoc forecasting requests and support commercial assessment of in-licensing products on need-basis.
  • Play an active role in interpreting and applying insights from Competitive Intelligence landscape and Market Research to integrate it with high quality forecast models at asset and portfolio level
  • Explain modeling assumptions and triangulate assumptions with external data sources, analyst reports and other forecasting models to pressure test them and develop scenarios.
  • Perform analyses estimating disease area revenue potential, sales coverage, market size, class penetration, marketing practices and future trends.
  • Incorporate working knowledge of payer and contracting landscape into forecasting.
  • Coordinate with finance and Insights & Analytics teams globally to develop and align on forecasting inputs.
  • Manage professional relationships with internal partners and external vendors.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with areas such as forecasting, marketing, market research, pricing & access
  • Strong experience with advanced Excel, patient based forecast modeling and patient flows
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based virtual environment across different time-zones
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences including senior leadership teams
  • Ability to maintain and operate in a highly sensitive/confidential environment.
  • Experience with quantitative techniques including smoothing, regression, time series analysis
  • Experience working with secondary datasets such as IQVIA, Symphony, Flatiron EMR, DRG etc. to conduct custom analysis
  • Working knowledge of forecasting inputs including global pricing, access and reimbursement policies, and competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy
  • Strong project management skills to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
  • Good understanding of the latest developments in the global biopharmaceutical industry, unmet medical, diagnostics/testing needs and opportunities across oncology
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with client service orientation or consulting background
