JOB PURPOSE

Sana Biotechnology is seeking a creative and highly motivated individual to join our Cell Therapy – Islet Beta Cell team. You will be responsible for advancing the -omics pipelines by generating and executing crucial research material and experiments to support the clinical candidate, while working closely with other members of the Cell Therapy, Process Development, and In Vivo teams. You will report to the Senior Scientist, Islet Beta Cell Therapy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, design, and execute multiple experiments in parallel
  • Work with complex cell populations to generate DNA, RNA libraries
  • Build capabilities, using gold-standard library generation methods
  • Work closely with other members of the Beta Cell Therapy and Process Development teams to share and apply knowledge advances
  • Review and present data cross-functionally at group meetings and larger forums
  • Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies, including strict notebook documentation and biosafety policies

QUALIFICATION

  • M.S. in biotechnology, stem cell, molecular biology, -omics, cell differentiation or related discipline with 2 years of relevant industry laboratory experience, with a focus towards cell therapy and/or high-throughput assays
  • Demonstrated knowledge in mammalian stem cell culture and differentiation
  • Proactively able to design and execute experiments
  • Excellent bench skills and high standards for data integrity and quality
  • Adherence to rigorous standards of good lab practices, safety, and documentation

What will differentiate you from the crowd

  • Knowledge and expertise in single cell RNA sequencing
  • Scientific curiosity and drive
  • Experience in molecular biology, including PCR, RT-qPCR, Gibson/Golden Gate assembly, library barcoding
  • Computational biology experience
  • Strong communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a laboratory bench role that may require occasional work in the weekend. No regular travel required.
