OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an experienced and energetic finance professional to join our growing Finance team.  The Associate Director, FP&A will serve as a vital strategic business advisor to key stakeholders across the enterprise.  

This is a hands-on role and reports to the SVP, Finance. The ideal candidate must possess versatile financial skills, business acumen, understanding of corporate valuation methodologies and knowledge of the life sciences industry. The Associate Director, FP&A will have excellent and impactful communication skills backed by an authentic and collaborative nature exercised to deliver true partnership in the pursuit of exceptional performance .  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as financial business partner performing financial analysis and management reporting to operational and functional teams on strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Work closely with budget owners and teams on an ongoing basis to deepen comprehension of business activities and associated results, evaluate performance, interrogate variances, and enhance strategic scenarios, providing knowledge of drivers, risks, opportunities, sensitivities, and impacts of potential trade-offs 
  • Collaborate on financial analyses and scenarios for various funding opportunities 
  • Provide analytical support and modeling for business development execution
  • Contribute towards optimizing financial processes and workflows
  • Partner within the Finance and Accounting functions and broader enterprise to ensure financial systems and tools are optimized for maximum effectiveness
  • Assist in building and driving a world-class FP&A organization 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in budgeting and financial analysis
  • Strong expertise in analytical, problem-solving and financial modeling skills
  • Advanced skills with Excel and Google Suite 
  • Proficient in Adaptive Insights including model creation 
  • Experience analyzing opportunities with methodologies such as NPV and IRR
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles 
  • Experience in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to travel to our Brisbane location as needed
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance 
  • Experience in roles of increasing responsibility in the finance and accounting functions of a high-growth and/or startup company
  • High attention to detail and capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent business partnership skills, working collaboratively across multiple functions 
  • Proficiency to tell the qualitative story behind the numbers and prepare insightful slides 
  • Experience with fundraising processes including IPOs and SOX requirements
  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and judgment
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to changing priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills
