Job Description:

The Associate Director/Director of Strategic Pricing & Contracting will develop, execute, and monitor the effectiveness of list price strategies and contract strategies across channels, including but not limited to, physician clinics, hospitals, commercial payers, 340B, the VA, Medicaid, and Medicare. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

List Price Strategy

  • Perform analysis and develop list price strategies aligned with brand objectives, competitive environment, and goal of ensuring access to the Ipsen US portfolio of products
  • Present and gain approval at Pricing Committee

Contracting Strategy

  • Perform analysis and develop contracting strategies aligned with brand objectives, competitive environment, and goal of ensuring access to the Ipsen US portfolio of products
  • Develop contracting strategies across all channels including but not limited to, physician clinics, hospitals, commercial payers, 340B, the VA, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Present and gain approval at Pricing Committee

Contract Execution / Negotiation

  • Partner with law department to develop contracts aligned with approved strategies
  • Partner with account facing teams to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with individual accounts, and execute contracts
  • Collaborate with contract administration and trade teams to ensure the accurate implementation of list and contract prices

Forecasting / GTN / Contracting Performance

  • Partner with Finance and Analytics departments to forecast volume and discounts by channel throughout the various financial forecasting and budgeting cycles
  • Collaborate with Finance to assess GTN impact of various pricing & contracting strategies in development
  • Evaluate effectiveness of contracting strategies and recommend adjustments to maximize performance
  • Provide customer contract performance updates

Abilities, Experiences and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS is required; MBA, MAS or advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience within biopharma, with 3 years in pricing/contracting strategy development and 2 years in offer development
  • Contracting experience in the buy and bill setting preferred.
  • Contracting experience in Oncology preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience partnering with Finance to determine GTN impact of pricing & contract strategy
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience negotiating contract terms, assessing risk across various scenarios, anticipating customer & competitor response.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with payers, providers, and intermediaries and their impact on product utilization
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple channels including but not limited to, physician clinics, hospitals, commercial payers, 340B, the VA, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the impact of pricing and contracting decisions on government price reporting including but not limited to, ASP, AMP, and Medicaid Best Price
  • Proven advanced analytical modeling skills
  • High proficiency with Excel, including advanced modeling skills, as well as Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and future government policies and their impact on government & commercial payers, providers, and intermediaries.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible/hybrid environment, including a mix of in-office and at-home work
