We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Forge Biologics IT team. We are a fast-growing biotech company in Columbus, OH. This position will be instrumental in implementing and scaling Microsoft-centric environments providing top shelf security, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing and lead implementation of onsite networks in accordance with industry best practices and internal requirements
  • Function as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microsoft standard business technology
  • Collaborate with IT team and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to:
    • Oversee systems and network in large facility
    • Support Help Desk needs such as endpoint management tools
    • Identify and implement IT projects and improvements
    • Provide Tier 3 IT support, assisting more junior resources when required
  • Coordinate with cGMP/GxP teams for biotech manufacturing IT needs
  • Ensure reliable and compliant backups and disaster recovery (DR) plans
  • Maintain detailed up-to-date documentation of networks and systems
  • Operate with a security-oriented mentality
  • Assist in the implementation and meeting of compliance/regulatory requirements (21 CFR 11, GxP/GAMP)
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of engineering/administration with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMWare and associated supporting services
  • Proficiency with typical WAN/LAN/WLAN systems and technologies
  • Experience with implementing network switches, access points, firewalls is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud (M365, Azure, AWS) is a plus
  • Experience in a regulated (eg, FDA, GxP, HIPAA) environment or in biotech manufacturing is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Ability to work onsite at Forge's headquarters (Grove City, Ohio) 3-4 days/week
