Moderna is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Research Associate in Immunology, Infectious Disease ready to function in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This position is based at the Moderna Cambridge site and will be reporting to a Scientist in the B cell Immunology team. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for the execution and evaluation of studies to evaluate cellular and serological immune responses to vaccines, including immune cells characterization by flow cytometry, cell sorting and single-cell approaches (10x gemomics). In addition, the candidate will help to develop and use novel immune assays to identify novel vaccine approaches. The successful candidate is expected to have substantial hands-on experience in ELISA and multiplex assays, flow cytometry and cell sorting as well as in vitro cell culture techniques. Previous experience with 10x library preparation is a plus. Applicants should be collaborative team members, excellent communicators, and should be excited to work with cutting edge mRNA technology in the advancement of vaccines against unmet infectious disease threats
Heres What Youll Do:
Develop and perform immunological assays (ELISA, ELISpot, Luminex)
Perform phenotyping of immune cells by flow cytometry
Assist with antibody titration and new flow panel development
Perform cell sorting and 10x library preparation.
Analyze, organize and present data
General laboratory assistance in a cross-functional environment, including lab equipment maintenance, ordering and organizing supplies, tissue processing and cell isolation/preparation
Careful record keeping (e-lab notebook and others), data organization and presentation
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
BS/BA with at least 2-3 years of lab-related experience or MS focused on biological sciences 0-2 years of experience; industry experience desirable but not a must; performing in vitro screening performing in vitro/ ex vivo immunology experiments
Required: experience in immunological assays including flow cytometry, ELISA, luminescent and fluorescence-based assay development, ELISpot will be a plus
Hands on experience with cell culture (cell lines and primary cell culture)
Excellent skills and ability to work efficiently in a multicultural highly dynamic and matrixed environment
