What You Will Achieve
Working with a dynamic team of Logistics and Supply Chain experts, you will play a critical role in planning and managing the efficient flow of products and services through the Pfizer supply chain cycle. You will ensure that the products arrive on time and within acceptable quality parameters meeting the desired marketing and financial objectives. Through your extensive knowledge in logistics management, you will guide the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes and system to meet customer requirements.
As a Senior Manager, you will be setting the objectives for multiple projects in your Operating Unit. Your managerial and technical skills will help in guiding the team members. You will manage performance of direct and indirect reports and support Operating Unit objectives through goal setting, assessment, coaching and performance evaluation of team members. Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will facilitate in instituting knowledge sharing practices in your team and outside. You shall be relied on to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and set direction for its success.

This position is a leader of leaders, responsible for a sizable multi-shift team whose primary focus is the distribution of product from the new vaccine packing lines. Key accountabilities include production operation management, technical problem solving, financial oversight, safety & compliance leadership, and customer service to assure that production output meets the demands from the business.
How You Will Achieve It
This position is responsible for the leadership of a sizable multi-shift team whose primary focus is the distribution of finished vaccine product in a highly automated and regulated environment. This leader will oversee Vaccine FG Picking, Packing and Shipment direct to point of use. Packing includes oversight of production lines which include formation of critical in line raw materials. Responsibilities include maintaining a culture of compliance, oversight and adherence to controlled environment operations, and GMP compliance.
This position will foster and drive innovation within the assigned asset base.
The leader will guide a strong culture focused on safety, continuous improvement activities, and providing support for regulatory filings and qualifications. This position often interacts with regulatory audits as an SME and tour guide.
The leader will drive appropriate capital investment strategies.
Critical to success will be leading a successful IMEx process centric production process and providing ongoing coaching and development to sustain qualified Process Centric Teams.
This leader is directly responsible for driving team performance to meet and exceed production and financial targets while maintaining strong quality and safety compliance.
Set objectives for and manage multiple projects within the Operating Unit.
Develop innovative, advanced new concepts that improve processes or products across own and related disciplines.
Conduct business relevant Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process review with Stakeholders for effective decision making support and action.
Drive Global Supply Chain (GSC)management system and continuously improve performance levels in line with established objectives.
Provide appropriate performance metrics and tune and direct organizational performance.
Establish and actively manage strong performance based relationships with local Business Unit (BU) leadership, clearly negotiating and defining service level expectations for that market per business unit.
Contribute efforts to efficient capital management and maintain the best inventory today and for the future.
Manage logistics related Intercompany Operations strategic initiatives, continuous process/cost improvement, operational implementation and process governance across all internal and external networks.
Develop organizational strategy on validation planning for transportation systems also supporting new product launches.
Develop a talent base of high performing professionals and managers to deliver on business unit and strategic projects.
Create a motivated, committed and engaged project team that fosters innovation and professional development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management and/or Supply Chain Management and 7+ years of experience.
Previous experience as a manager of colleagues is required (minimum of 5 years) and experience leading first line supervisors and managers is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and strong competency with tools
Ability to assess data and make recommendations based on data.
Ability to collaborate and influence others.
Knowledge and experience with applying and implementing Lean Principles.
Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
Ability to lead and/or work with diverse cross functional teams.
Strategic thinking, problem solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Competence in data analysis and insight development.
Controlled environment logistics and distribution experience highly desirable.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Job will include standing, walking, and sitting. Occasional lifting may be required. Job will also entail occasional off-shift and weekend work. Because the position does hold ad hoc memberships on several corporate teams, travel to other Pfizer sites may be required infrequently.
This position will operate Primarily on First Shift, but will have direct reports supporting a 3X5 operation.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel may be required for specific projects or training.
Facility gowning training will be required.
Job will also require occasional weekend/evening work.
