Position Summary:

The DMPK-Clinical Pharmacology Department at IDEAYA Biosciences is searching for a Principal Research Associate / Research Scientist. The primary responsibility of this role is to support bioanalysis for PK and PK-PD-Efficacy studies desired to characterize the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and PK-PD properties of small molecule drug candidates from early discovery through clinical stage development.

What you'll do:

    • Perform bioanalysis supporting PK, PK-PD studies including LC-MS/MS method development and sample analysis in biological matrices
    • Conduct PK analysis supporting preclinical studies. 
    • Develop DMPK assays including in vitro ADME and biomarker analysis as needed 
    • Generate and upload assay data, communicate results/reports to multi-disciplinary project teams
    • Work closely with multi-disciplinary team
    • Maintain good electronic laboratory notebook records
    • Write and review study/assay protocols and reports as required
    • Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot as needed
    • Participate in the coordination of external CROs for contract/quote management, study request, execution, and timelines. 


Requirements

    • A degree of Ph.D. (with 0-2 industrial experiences) or BS/MS (with a minimum of 7 years industrial experiences) in DMPK, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline
    • Required skillset includes hands-on experience in biological sample extraction methods, HPLC-MS method development, and operating state-of-art HPLC-MS instruments. Working knowledge in other in vitro ADME assays is a plus.
    • Understanding of ADME-PK principles and the application of ADME-PK information supporting early discovery, lead optimization and/or development of candidate selection 
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills, proven ability to work in a team-based environment are essential
