We are looking for a Director to join our team and help us achieve our Company mission of "Breakthroughs that Change Patients Lives". This role, leading the delivery of Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Transformation projects, includes:

  • Leading the definition, cost and negotiation of global, cross-functional Transitional Services Agreements (TSAs) for divested Pfizer assets (outbound) and coordinate across the enabling functions for Pfizer acquired assets (inbound)

  • Lead M&A cross-functional solutioning and deep dive working sessions (e.g., Day 1 integration vision enabling functions, interdependencies enabling functions, TSA scoping)

  • Serve as a point person with external facing parties in negotiation, planning, execution and issue resolution for TSAs and long-term settlement arrangements, balancing the interests of Pfizer internal functions, external relationships and the long-term success of the transaction

  • Provide ongoing Enterprise level executive engagement, collaboration and reporting, including appropriate escalation when required

  • Lead post transaction close TSA change management and drives TSA exit planning, coordinating across functions

  • Manage, track and present on transformation project progress against critical metrics (including financials, variances in time and scope, risks and trends) to Sr. level management on a regular basis

  • Lead T&PM relationship management with key groups including Business Development

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional global TSA development, including terms negotiation, scheduled development, operationalization, governance, and exit planning / execution

  • Lead Global Business Services and Finance functional teams through acquisitions and divestitures from select pre-Signing activities (e.g., diligence, modelling), Day 1 readiness, post-Close value capture

  • Lead and manage select large-scale strategic / transformation projects with significant global and cross-functional impact

  • Mobilize cross-functional teams and external vendors in scoping, planning, presenting, staffing and execution of assigned projects

  • Lead the development and management of project workplans including performing risk analysis, managing project financials, tracking progress, and management internal / external resources

  • Lead the development of a clear project forward-thinking vision and articulate the project value within the context of the company’s strategic vision

  • Drive the execution of integration/divestiture solutions by balancing different needs and perspectives diplomatically within defined budget plan, leading the resolution of issues, risks, dependencies

  • Responsible to understand the interdependencies of Pfizer’s internal functions and groups and ensure clear and open communications across M&A Project teams

  • Ability to lead change initiatives, and positively influence in a team environment

  • Take a lead role in developing the learning environment and incorporate lessons learned and mentor lower-level project managers and associates to prepare the next generation of advanced project managers

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in finance or related field and exposure to project management process/activities

  • 5-7+ years’ experience in M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), across the entire deal continuum (diligence, Day 1 readiness, post-Close value capture)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance or related field

  • MBA, CPA and/or project management credential (i.e. PMP, 6 Sigma) preferred

  • Experience leading multiple transactions successfully at the same time, across multiple functions

  • Knowledge / experience in the healthcare / pharmaceutical industry a plus

  • Knowledge / experience with Pfizer a plus

  • Proven track record of successful deal negotiations and navigation across the deal continuum (from pre-Signing diligence through post-Closing value capture)

  • Experience leading global TSA development, governance and exit programs

  • Ability to operate independently without day-to-day guidance and anticipate stakeholder needs, developing and discussing potential solutions

  • Ability to move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail

  • Experience successfully navigating a large organization and managing multiple stakeholder interests on global, complex projects

  • Finance project management experience required, including business strategy experience a plus

  • Demonstrates highly developed team leadership skills and the ability to manage internal / external resources to achieve project objectives

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results

  • Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues in all functional areas of Pfizer, including Senior Leadership

  • Capability to be a leader at all levels to own and understand the corporate vision, mission and culture and work to support the big picture through daily work activities

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and comfortable influencing and motivating teams with no direct authority over them

  • Ability to synthesize complex and voluminous information to provide accurate and meaningful project status to key senior stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; comfortable managing competing priorities within a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent oral, written and overall communication skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to create and manage spreadsheets, tables and presentations

  • Domestic and international travel may be required depending on the nature of the assigned projects (approximately 20%)

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
