What You Will Achieve
In joining the Pfizer team, you will have a key role in leveraging your substantive experience and knowledge to troubleshoot and solve on site problems. Your will partner with site operations managers and operations specialists to ensurethatthe sites and teams are in continuous state of audit readiness. You will havetheresponsibility for identifying areas of high risk and proactively implementing improvements, interfacing with site engineering, maintenance/calibrations and technical operations to implement facility and process improvements and managing overall changesin the area.

As a Manager, youwillprovide guidance to operational teams for managing projects. Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements and providing areas of improvement for products, processes,or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, conceptsand theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies. You will be able to take a leadership role to facilitate agreements between different teams.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead a team in the manufacture of Plasmid DNA used in the manufacture of gene therapies, COVID mRNA vaccines, and other DNA and mRNA therapies.

  • Provide guidance, lead,or co-lead projects, manage own time to meet objectives and plan resource requirements for projects.​

  • Proactively implement improvements to business and manufacturing processes that improve flexibility, eliminate waste and reduce variability.

  • Identify deficiencies and work with Quality AssuranceTeam Owner for the necessary corrective actions.

  • Act as theManufacturing point of contact for regulatory inspections and internal audits.

  • Effectively lead/facilitate/participate in cross functional team investigations for deviations and, when applicable, aid in authoring remediation plans.

  • Execute clinical and commercial production on-time and without injury or defects.

  • Develop Operations Specialists knowledge and skillset in areas of personal expertise.

  • Own areaChangeControls and commitments, reviewing them periodically based on timelines.

  • Take lead in strengthening a compliance culture by encouraging and communicating compliance expectations, escalation and remediation of compliance issues or improvements.

  • Facilitate execution of shift productivity, quality and safety against set goals.

  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

  • Execute and sustain the components of the lean management system.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • BS in a Scientific/Engineering discipline with 8+ years relevant experience, an MS in a Scientific/Engineering discipline with 6+ years in a relevant experience.

  • Experience in the application of statistical methodologies to support manufacturing and quality control test methods.​

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.

  • Previous experience in a GMP environment.

  • Previous management experience.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Able-bodied - Must be able to climb flights of stairs and stand for ~1-2 hours at a time and to lift 40 pounds.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is for 2nd shift Monday - Friday. Work hours are expected to range from 3:30pm – 12:00am, Monday through Friday. Actual coverage hours may flex to support facility and operational needs.

  • Note: Shift start and end time may be staggered across a shift team to provide wider coverage across the operational day.

  • Occasional off-shift requirements and weekend coverage may be required.

  • Some travel may be required.
