Senior Manager / Product Owner - Coverage & Pricing Analytics

In this vital role you will lead a new Software Product team of Engineers and Analysts to design, build, scale and mature modeling, forecasting, analytics and data management capabilities that support Coverage, Contracting and Pricing for Amgens US Value & Access organization. Your remit is to focus on developing deal modeling and forecasting technology capabilities to increase revenue opportunities in the US market for Amgens products. This is a cross-functional team that in collaboration with other product and platform teams will develop and mature new digital product capabilities as part of the highly visible Gross-to-Net Transformation initiative. As a new product in development, ability to work with ambiguity and creating a learning environment is critical to success

  • Lead and be accountable for the Agile Product team and the technology capabilities required to support modeling, forecasting, analytics, and data management in support of market coverage, contracting and pricing, initially for the US region

  • Be accountable for robust product prioritization and governance via PI planning with business leadership

  • Build and manage the product roadmap and secure necessary investments; manage product TCO, budgets and forecasts

  • Implement a robust DevOps pipeline for the product using Amgens CI/CD frameworks and tools

  • Drive a Product First attitude amongst the team and peers with a goal towards global expansion of the products capabilities

  • Drive an attitude of excellence in running robust, reliable, and secure software products following Amgens software development, operating procedures and change management requirements

  • Unblock and drive engagement to maximize results delivery for the team and the organization

  • Drive external software product and service partners to deliver excellence

  • Develop and mentor the team for higher performance and individual career growth. Act as a role model demonstrating leadership behaviors

  • Serve as a SAFe coach for the team and mentor them in Agile product delivery; demonstrate and serve as a mentor for Lean-Agile Leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Masters degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

And

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability working in software product management/development in a technical leadership capacity with experience in working across Product and Platform teams

  • Prior experience in leading technical teams and building modeling, forecasting, analytics and data management tools/applications atop AWS using modern ETL and Analytical toolsets. Experience with leading application development of forecasting models in Anaplan is a strong plus

  • Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact

  • Excellent communication skills to work across and up the organization to influence, negotiate, and manage escalations

  • SAFe Certification(s) and Lean-Agile Leadership experience

  • Technical experience in commercial pharmaceutical information ecosystems and architecture to guide and mentor software and data engineers

  • Test automation and DevOps experience; exposure to complete product development lifecycle in Agile / Scrum and DevOps environments

  • Experience with industry engagement to advance thought leadership, peer networks, and expertise to develop product technology roadmaps

  • Experience with sourcing and managing vendors for software product build and DevOps services

  • Resilience in working in a dynamic environment at the speed of business
