About Discovery Scientist– Waltham, MA

Our Alloy Discovery Services group is looking for a Scientist to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. The position will report directly to our Head of B-Cell platforms and work with our Discovery Services team to build new antibody technologies to support the discovery of antibody-based therapeutics. You will be using the very latest single-cell techniques with the ultimate goal of helping others to make better medicines faster.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Preparation of immune cells for screening on single-cell platforms (enrichment, FACS sorting)
  • Assay development for single-cell screening
  • Recovery of BCR sequences using single cell sequencing
  • NGS library building
  • BCR sequence analysis
  • High throughput cloning of BCR

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline with 0-2+ years of experience
  • Experience with flow cytometry and FACS
  • Experience with TCR and BCR sequencing methods
  • Experience with RT-PCR and molecular biology protocols
  • Experience with single-cell technologies (Beacon, Microfluidics, 10x genomics)
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing
  • Experience with sequencing of immune repertoire
  • Solid knowledge of B cell and/or T cell biology
  • Eager to pioneer new technologies to support drug discovery
  • Attention to detail, rigorous scientific thinking and appropriate documentation, clear communication
  • An independent sense of urgency, persistence, and integrity
