Bio Systems Engineer Intern

About the Instrument Engineering Team:
The Instrument Engineering team is responsible for design, develop and maintain the Tapestri instrument for our customer and internal R&D teams to conduct single cell genomic and multi-omic analysis. Our team also develops instrument systems and components for internal R&D and manufacturing. We work cross functionally with the Mission Bio commercial, scientific, manufacturing teams to fulfill their needs. All team members are located in our Bay Area headquarter.

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, and driven engineering student to help the instrumentation engineering team. This is a great opportunity to obtain a lot of engineering experience! The successful candidate will help the development of our new customer facing instrument and instruments for internal applications. In addition to fellow engineers, you will also work cross-functionally

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Follow engineering instructions, circuit schematic, drawings and diagrams
● Assemble first article / prototype instruments
● Conduct engineering tests and experiments
● Build standard and flex cable assemblies per engineering instructions
● Build test and assembly fixtures
● Manage engineering lab and stock lab supplies
● Some documentation tasks

Required Skills:

● Demonstrated ability to solve engineering problems
● Demonstrated hands-on ability to construct hardware systems
● Demonstrated hands-on ability to modify hardware components
● Demonstrated understanding of basic engineering knowledge
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills, ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across

Education and Experience:

● Senior year working towards a Bachelor’s degree in bioengineering, or a related major
● Understand the operation of electronic lab equipment and mechanical tools
