PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The AIDS and Cancer Virus Program (ACVP) is an integrated, multidisciplinary program that performs cutting-edge research in an effort to improve our understanding of AIDS-associated disease, including studies intended to facilitate the improved diagnosis, prevention and treatment of HIV infection and AIDS. The Program consists of several research Sections headed by Principal Investigators, whose work spans from fundamental molecular virology through in vitro studies, to in vivo studies in non-human primate (NHP) models. The ACVP also has several Research Support Cores that provide critical and often unique technical support capabilities to ACVP laboratories and other laboratories within the NCI and NIH, and to extramural investigators.
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The ACVP is looking for a Post-baccalaureate

SIV-specific engineered T cells for adoptive cellular immunotherapy using Artificial Thymic Organoids
(ATO)” under the leadership of Dr. Yichuan Wang in the Retroviral Pathogenesis
Section of the ACVP. The goal of this study is to develop novel engineered T cell clones that could eradicate virus reservoirs, a major
obstacle for achieving a cure of HIV infection. The successful candidate
will be able to work in a team-oriented environment, consistently follow
detailed protocols and instructions, and keep careful records. The successful
candidate will utilize standard cell biology, immunology and molecular biology
techniques including, but not limited to molecular cloning, tissue culture,
ELISA and using Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint and Excel) for data summary
and presentation.
The
key responsibilities of the applicant will be:
- Observing and learning the techniques related to T cell engineering
- Setting up and maintaining three-dimensional cell cultures
