Sourcing Specialist - Indirect

The Sourcing Specialist supports the planning and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for the Commercial and Medical Affairs Sourcing Team. Our Sourcing Specialist conducts data gathering, supports spend analytics, assists in delivering measurable cost savings, and tracks savings against contracts. They support evaluations through the development of RFGs, RFIs and RFPs and may participate in negotiations. The Specialist actively participates in supplier selection and provides data and recommendations to endure information selection decisions.

As a Sourcing Specialist a typical day might include the following:

• Leading implementations of business and process improvements within the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) department.

• Working on sourcing-related problems and considering solutions to potential issues. Demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for determining solutions

• Soliciting and analyzing RFPs, participating in contract negotiations and ensuring contract are realized (SLAs, Savings, etc.) ensuring compliance with pricing agreements and internal policies and procedures

• Providing detailed analysis and information which may have financial impact on sourcing decisions

• Data gathering, detailed analysis and report generations

• Operating as a focal point to coordinate and prepare QBRs

• Using discretion in applying practices and procedures to resolve issues, demonstrating a broad and detailed understanding and application of technical and/or specialized concepts in sourcing

• Using expertise within a sourcing subject area to complete tasks optimally, efficiently and contributing to department initiatives, improving process, policy, technology

• Networking efficiently with internal and external personnel across the company

• Supporting sourcing projects within a cross-functional, collaborative environment

• Handling projects without supervision while demonstrating integrity, flexibility, and attention to detail

This role might be for you if you have:

• Proven understanding of sourcing and procurement, planning supplier interface and negotiations, systems applications such as Zycus/Ariba, GEP(Contracts Management), Spend Analytics, MS PowerPoint, Word Excel

• Good negotiation skills

• Cost modeling knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written skills

• Ability to formulate high-level presentations

• Ability to build consensus, partnership, and creativity within a collaborative team under minimal supervisor

To be considered for the Sourcing Specialist you must have a Bachelors degree plus 2 or more years of relevant, progressive experience within indirect procurement. Program management experience and project management experience a definite plus.
