Why Patients Need You

As a Principal Scientist, you are vital to making sure customers and patients have the medicines they need, when they need them. Working with our innovative team, you'll help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what’s possible and taking action.

What You Will Achieve

Develops and validates manufacturing processes for drug products, including new or revised dosages or presentations, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research, other sites, or other areas within the site to production. Conducts tests and measurements throughout the stages of production to determine control over applicable variables. Identifies and implements process and equipment efficiency, safety, quality and/or cost improvements. Supports Quality and Operations with investigation of deviations. Performs root-cause analysis and identifies appropriate, effective corrective and preventive actions. Implements corrective and preventive actions in conjunction with other enabling groups (i.e. Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, EHS). Works comfortably and interchangeably on the manufacturing floor, in lab, and/or office environments.

How You Will Achieve It

Primary author for reports, presentation and papers with minimal direction. Reports will contain analysis of Regulatory and/or Financial impacts where appropriate. Demonstrated skills in leading, planning, and developing successful technology development and implementation. Recognized internally as an expert in the field. Network includes technical and business contacts in other areas of Pfizer, mostly on-site, but spanning several areas of the organization. Beginning to build a network that includes other PGS sites and center colleagues. Any delays are effectively communicated with appropriate action plans for recovery or impact minimization. Leads and motivates others to contribute their best, generating commitment and a shared sense of purpose. Effectively transitions between leading/doing and delegation, contributing through others. Able to recognize opportunities to apply new ideas in novel applications in different areas or processes. Looks for and applies "cross fertilization" opportunities. Progress multiple projects of technical complexity in parallel and in a timely fashion, achieving results through others.
