Regeneron Pharmaceutical’s Analytical Chemistry group, located at Tarrytown, NY is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our group. The successful candidate will be working in a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry lab and developing analytical methods for Bioanalysis & Therapeutic protein characterization to support R&D pipelines. This will be a lab-based role with focus on hands-on experiments and mass spectrometry data analysis. The candidate will report to a staff scientist and will work in a cross-functional team environment. This role will also be involved in developing innovative mass spectrometry technologies to support Regeneron's upstream R&D programs.

A Typical Day Might Include the Following:
  • Develop primarily LC-MS based methods and conduct analytical experiments on biological samples or therapeutic proteins. Analyze mass spectrometry data to quantify biologics or elucidate critical quality attributes of therapeutic proteins.

  • Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols. Document experiments, results and findings in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) in accordance with company policy.

  • Plan and work independently with minimal supervision; Troubleshoot and fix common analytical methods.

  • Analyze data and summarize results in a quality form to present at the group and department meetings; Participate in the writing of technical reports, SOPs, and analytical method protocols, etc.

  • Conduct analytical methods qualification as necessary to support late-stage program developments.

  • Provide support for regulatory submissions and peer-reviewed publications.

  • Participate in the general lab maintenance and instrument upkeep.

This Role May Be For You If:
  • 0-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience

  • Good understanding of mass spectrometry techniques and their applications to protein/peptide analysis, as well as other protein analysis techniques

  • Previous hands-on experience with chromatographic separation, sample processing, quantitative/qualitative assays

  • Attention to detail, good record keeping and organizational skills

  • Ability to think and act creatively and independently, work collaboratively in a team environment.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of a BS degree 0-5 years of a MS degree and 0-2 years' of hands on direct laboratory experience for an Associate level. To be considered for a Specialist, must have a BS degree 5-10 years experience, or a MS +5 years experience. Leveling will be determined through interview process.

Preferred Experience:
  • Direct experience with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) related assays for protein analysis and data interpretation skills. Experience with ligand binding assays (e.g. ELISA, MSD) is a plus.

  • Familiar with advanced mass spectrometry instruments like Q-TOF, Orbitrap, Q-Exactive, Triple Quadrupole, etc...

  • Experience with analytical methods development and validation/qualification

  • Experience in the CRO/biotech/biopharmaceutical industry

  • Bioanalysis and GxP compliance environment experience is a plus.

  • Good multi-tasking, time management and project handling skills are desired.
