ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for the delivery of Pfizer’s Core Digital Manufacturing Operations Management (MoM) capabilities at every level of the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Plant Network (ISA 95 Levels 0-4). These solutions are critical to Manufacturing & Lab Execution, Manufacturing Process Intelligence and Production Optimization that aim to improve product quality, increase asset utilization/uptime, automate manual workflows, and streamline plant floor operations. The Digital Manufacturing vision is to “Simplify processes and experiences to drive PGS outcomes”.

The ​Manager, Solution Engineer​ing plays a key role in delivering the future of Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities within the Digital Manufacturing Organization. The colleague will be responsible for leading a team that is creating solutions that execute, monitor and enhance the manufacturing process, while implementing cutting edge technology to augment and immerse shop floor colleagues with the insights they need to increase productivity and simplify their overall experience. You will be part of an exciting team that delivers best in industry solutions across Manufacturing.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The ​Manager, Solution Engineering​ colleague’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Managed Support Services, CORE, Business teams and lead strategic planning for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to achieve Zero-Downtime goals for 24/7 support.

  • Leverage modern technology expertise, industry 4.0 trends and best-in-class standards to enhance and streamline Manufacturing Operations processes for efficiency and productivity gains.

  • Work with business units, application developers, security, and infrastructure engineering to troubleshoot, design and build application integrations that support critical manufacturing processes across operations, quality, and materials.

  • Manage high level customer escalations to provide the best-in-class solutions for customer issue.

  • Own MES systems’ Annual Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) testing, Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Hardware/Software Maintenance process.

  • Lead the MES Global Command Center calls to troubleshoot and resolve the Production issues for Manufacturing Execution System. Identify improvement areas and implement strategic solutions on time with consultation with business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player across diverse internal and external organizations

  • Coordinate, supervise and develop L4 support teams and build long term relationships with vendors.

  • Set priority for solution development initiatives, propose timeline for monitoring and control of L4 support services and ensure technical problems are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering or Technology based subjects(s) or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years related work experience.

  • Experience in Webservers (Apache/JOBSS)

  • Knowledge of publishing Applications, User access, Printers and Peripheral management in Citrix environment

  • Experience in integrating manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, Lab Systems (LIMS), automation systems such as PLC and SCADA, etc.)

  • Strong Knowledge of Relations databases like Oracle and SQL Server, Networking, OPC Servers, Historians (OSI PI Historian) etc.

  • Good understanding in all lifecycle phases of managing SaaS/cloud-based solutions required.

  • Experience in managing Digital L4 support queues and adhering to defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

  • Ability to work across multiple concurrent activities and successfully adapt to changing priorities as required

  • A thorough understanding of system GMP requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of supply chain, manufacturing domains and supporting technology including manufacturing and supply chain ERP systems

  • Experience with Agile Software Delivery and/or Scrum Master Certification
