In this vital role Amgen is seeking a versatile, high potential HR professional to join our Human Resources team as lead HR Business Partner for Amgens Global Commercial teams (Global Marketing & Capabilities; Biosimilars Business Unit; and Global Government Affairs headquartered in Washington DC), reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources for Amgens Global Commercial Organization and managing one HR Business Partner Manager. This Director level role will lead strategic HR support for all of Amgens centralized commercial capabilities, supporting two Senior Vice Presidents and 11 Vice Presidents spread around the Globe.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, the HRBP Director will use their business acumen and broad HR consulting skills to help Amgens senior commercial executive team achieve key business objectives that span across the commercial organization.
Serve as a trusted advisor to commercial leaders guiding the framing and execution of our most broad and business-critical people-related initiatives.
Combine business and people insights to coach and guide executive clients in strategic capability builds.
Provide insights and recommendations to Amgens Commercial Leadership Team concerning specific strategic projects.
Stay current on leading talent trends and deliver practical and insightful thought leadership to the business, while also sharing knowledge and best practices with Amgens global HR organization.
This position will be located at Amgens headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA but will operate in a hybrid flex work environment (i.e., expected to work in office only ~3-5 days per month).

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years Human Resources experience
OR
Masters degree and 7 years of Human Resources experience
OR
Bachelors degree and 9 years of Human Resources experience
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources development, or physical sciences and Biotechnology industry knowledge
10+ years of progressively complex/strategic HR experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, staff development and recruitment
Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources
Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
Strong internal and external customer service focus
The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives
Ability to partner well with other HR and business functions
