Job Description

Manager - Project Management, Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing

Specific Responsibilities for the Position:

The Manager - Project Management position within PDM Project Management is responsible for managing multiple CMC teams within the biologics development and commercial space. The projects assigned may range from Pre-IND through Commercial including all phases of development. The position will also include other duties including contributing to PMO office initiatives and enhancing best practices within the department and organization.

Essential Functions

The position will consist of the following main duties:
  • Provides comprehensive project management support to the global CMC project teams collaborating with the following groups: Biologics Development, Formulation and Process Development, Analytical, Quality Assurance, Packaging & Labeling, Outsourcing, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and the Global Development Team
  • Proactively monitors the projects to ensure communication on strategy, status, critical path activities, resource requirements, risks and mitigation strategies are identified early and communicated effectively to stakeholders and senior management
  • Facilitates team preparation for the project reviews and other strategy documents to ensure messaging is clear and concisely communicated and completed on time
  • Ensures all programs have accurate timelines and project teams have clear goals, objectives, and milestones consistent with the priorities of the business
  • Enhances the standard best practices in Program and Portfolio Management, including the use of templates, tools, and processes to drive efficiency, alignment, and effective planning


Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • 6+ years of relevant experience and a BA or BS or; 4+ years of relevant experience and a MS or MBA. Relevant experience consists of a Program or Portfolio Management role within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with thorough understanding of the drug development process
  • Prior experience with creating long-term planning and managing integrated timelines and resources.
  • Strong experience in Project Management processes, creating templates, and training materials. PMP certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational planning skills, time management, and record retention. Capable of setting priorities and managing high workload. Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to deliver assignments on time, thorough follow-through and implementation skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple layers of the organization with demonstrated success initiating change. Strong teamwork collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with new technologies and produce professional work products
