You will be responsible for generating work orders and ensuring that work is completed correctly in a timely manner. Your knowledge in the domain will help in providing detailed technical training to colleagues. You will support the work team operation to ensure that applicable safety guidelines/policies are followed, and that all tasks are conducted in accordance with appropriate processing standards, such as current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

As part of the Technical Operations team, your prior work experience and ability to apply your breadth of knowledge will help you adapt the standard methods and procedures. You will help us identify required delivery and process improvements that drive increased efficiency, throughput and quality. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.

Role Summary - The Packaging Engineering Technician serves as the technical SME on all Sterile Packaging lines. The Packaging Engineering Technician also oversees all set up and changeovers on both automated and semi-automated lines. The Packaging Engineering Technician will work on special projects and assist engineering and maintenance with trouble shooting, validation, preventive maintenance, and other miscellaneous support. The Packaging Engineering Technician will also run lines and be expected to know duties and responsibilities of Line Coordinator, and Material Handler positions. The Packaging Engineering Technician will also be required to learn and be qualified on all packaging line equipment performing basic, repetitive manufacturing or packaging operations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - The Packaging Engineering Technician will be required to set-up, operate, change-over, maintain, and basic troubleshoot Packaging equipment used in Injectable Packaging. The Packaging Engineering Technician will monitor, evaluate and adjust processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency, and make some minor repairs as required. The Packaging Engineering Technician will be responsible for completion of batch records, associated documentation Work Center Performance Monitoring (WPM) and SAP entries. The Packaging Engineering Technician will be responsible for helping to train other Packaging Engineering Technician, Line Coordinators and Inspection Operator. Additional responsibilities may include running the lines, coordinate startups and clearances. The Packaging Engineering Technician will coordinate with maintenance to complete repairs and develop solutions to mechanical hindrances. The Packaging Engineering Technician will provide support to the Packaging Technicians, Production Specialist, Leads and Plant Professionals for new equipment, and upgrades to existing equipment. The Packaging Engineering Technician will need to effectively communicate with other line colleagues and support personnel. The Packaging Engineering Technician will ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with applicable safety guidelines, as well as appropriate processing standards, SOP’s such as FDA's current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

  • Keep accurate records as needed for solution manufacture and prepare solutions as directed by work order.

  • Recognize when processes, procedures, equipment, product, commodities, etc. are out of specifications.

  • Check improper use or monitoring of equipment that may result in substantial downtime, equipment and material or product loss.

  • Support supervisor to execute investigations, analyze process data and identify and implement process improvements.

  • Prepare regular reports and metrics from Pfizer's Learning Solution and Quality Tracking System to identify training needs and progress with the unit.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 4+ years of experience

  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's Degree

Works a 7-2, 7-2, 7-3 work schedule. Over a four week period, works Mon-Sun (7 days), off Mon-Tues (2 days), works Wed-Tues (7 days), off Wed-Thurs (2 days), works Fri-Thurs (7 days), & off Fri-Sun (3 days). Weekend, holiday, and overtime may be required to meet business or customer needs. This operation will work 24x7x365.
