The successful candidate needs to have a consistent record of providing technical revenue accounting expertise in a fast-paced environment. This person will work closely with members of the accounting team, other Finance functions, as well as a broad group of cross-functional teams. The individual must be a self-starter, fast learner and capable of working with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility. The candidate will be expected to anticipate and surface issues, solve problems, recommend solutions and support go-to-market, and exercise good business judgment while performing these functions. The candidate is expected to have a strong eye for business coupled with a broad technical revenue accounting background and strong communication skills. Effective time management and prioritization skills in leading multiple projects are critical to the success of this role.
You will:
  • Develop technical revenue methodologies, processes and procedures; infrastructure to support GRAIL’s products ;and implement best practices
  • Proactively assist in structuring unique transactions while satisfying GAAP requirements for revenue recognition
  • Create audit-ready memos for significant and non-standard sales contracts/sales or marketing programs and lead external auditors in connection with revenue-related audit procedures
  • Support enhanced development and implementation of additional features in our billing system
  • Monitor processes around key accounting estimates for revenue recognition
  • Perform data analytics for collection trends
  • Evaluate customer contracts to ensure that revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with ASC606
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Business Development teams to review and evaluate the impact of draft contracts for revenue recognition
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end revenue close, including reconciliations and related fluctuation analysis and other reporting requirements
  • Work with the FP&A team to provide revenue assurance in the pricing models and new product introductions
  • Be responsible for performing SOX 404 internal controls over assigned areas, ensuring quality controls over revenue transactions and reporting.
  • Manage the process of maintaining and updating the Company Revenue Accounting Policy
  • Collaborate with the reporting team to prepare and review revenue related disclosures
  • Track, analyze and report on key performance indicators related to revenue and accounts receivable.

Your background should include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years in revenue recognition required, with a minimum of 2+ years in the healthcare industry
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition guidance under ASC606
  • In-depth knowledge and hands on experience working with GAAP multi-element revenue recognition accounting standards, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Proficient Excel and G-Suite skills
  • Ability to lead complex projects which require influence and implementation across business groups and functions
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Should be able to effectively lead critical deadlines
  • Should be a "self-starter" with a can-do attitude and a serious desire to have a positive impact on our Company
  • Track record of performance in a face-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong day-to-day project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with independent responsibilities
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience utilizing NetSuite and/or Xifin is a plus
  • Insurance billing and revenue recognition experience is a plus 
  • CPA preferred
