What You Will Achieve

The St. Louis Solutions Prep technician will be part of a diverse team of other technicians and scientists focused on preparation of various solutions, buffers, and media to support the entire Pharmaceutical Sciences organization at the Chesterfield, MO site. The technician will be responsible for completing manufacturing of various solutions and media per written formulation instructions, adhering to strict accuracy guidelines.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Cross-functional communication with tech transfer team, quality and engineering as necessary.

  • Implement {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and work under minimal supervision.

  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis tools.

  • Generate, assist and execute documentation associated with buffer/ medium manufacture, such as, working batch record documentation, in-process run sheets.

  • Complete activities identified as Operator care tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of manufacturing equipment.

  • Actively participate in shift exchange activities and communication channels.

  • Complete training to take part in safety inspections within the facility.

  • Manage solution preparation and laboratory consumables.

  • Understand and comply with the policies, procedures and working practices of Environment, Health & Safety and where necessary contribute to the review and implementation of the practices in the plant.

  • Help to coordinate shipments of solutions and media to other sites.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a biotechnology manufacturing or laboratory environment

  • Operational knowledge of computerized systems

  • Maintains a safe work environment

  • Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office required, especially MS Word, MS Excel

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Knowledge of buffer/ medium preparation

  • General chemistry background (e.g. understanding of conductivity, pH, and osmolality)

  • Mechanical aptitude and desire to execute hands on manual labor

  • Experience in a GMP environment


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

There are a total of 4 openings.

1 opening for 1st shift (7:30am-4:00pm)

2 opening for 2nd shift position (hours 3:30pm to 12:00am)

1 opening for 3rd shift position (hours 11:30pm to 8:00am)
