Cybersecurity Architect

The Role:

Modernas IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity organization is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to join their team in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to work with business leaders across the organization and influence cybersecurity strategic outcomes. The candidate will embrace Moderna mindsets and digitize what we do. The Cybersecurity Architect is a thought leader and experienced in multiple domains of information and cybersecurity.

Heres What Youll Do:

• Proactively work with business leaders to provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in multiple security domains.

• Design and engineer network, systems, and application security architectures for on-premise systems and public clouds.

• Develop security architecture reference models, policies, and standards.

• Perform risk assessments of business applications and services. Provide consulting to the business and ensure security policies, standards, and practices are implemented in designs.

• Perform research on products, technologies, and services to achieve Digital and department goals.

• Perform risk assessments of third party and supplier architecture.

• Improve and mature cybersecurity processes and technology.

• Work to operationalize architecture solutions.

• Develop data-driven analytics to support and achieve targets with significant impact on results.

• Develop short and long-term strategic plans and roadmaps.

• Manage large, complex project initiatives with cross-functional teams.

• Communicate strategy and matters of significance to leadership.

• Provide coaching, guidance, and training to staff as needed.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information or Cybersecurity with at least 5 years in security architecture or engineering.

• Demonstrated expertise in multiple security domains and related areas.

• Experience in threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies.

• Strong understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms with knowledge of AWS infrastructure and architecture.

• Knowledge and understanding of APIs, specifically RESTful APIs, and familiarity with service-oriented architecture and web services integration.

• Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory, and relevant IT architecture experience.

• Strong knowledge of security standards and international regulatory compliance including NIST 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA/HITRUST, ISO27001, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11, Sarbanes Oxley.

• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts, such as identify lifecycle management, password policies, RBAC/ABAC, and least privilege.

• Understanding of networking and wireless protocols.

• Experience with traditional security technology and toolsets.

• Previous experience in pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, and regulated life sciences environments (GxP).

• Strong written and oral communications.

• AWS certifications. Certified Security Specialty desired.

• CISSP certification required.

• Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, orrelated discipline required. Masters degree preferred.

Modernas Enterprise Solutions Hub in Atlanta provides enterprise solutions similar to its counterpart in Warsaw, Poland, which was established in May 2021. Moderna's Hub in Atlanta will initially focus on delivering finance, human resources, procurement and digital solutions. Moderna is expecting to hire approximately 150-200 full time employees in the Atlanta Hub over the next two years.
