ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Manufacturing Team is responsible for the delivery of Pfizer’s Core Digital Manufacturing Operations Management (MoM) capabilities at every level of the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Plant Network (ISA 95 Levels 0-4). These solutions are critical to Manufacturing & Lab Execution, Manufacturing Process Intelligence and Production Optimization that aim to improve product quality, increase asset utilization/uptime, automate manual workflows, and streamline plant floor operations. The Digital Manufacturing vision is to “Simplify processes and experiences to drive PGS outcomes”.

The Manufacturing 4.0 Team supports all of Pfizer’s Core Manufacturing & Engineering Solutions, while enabling a secure, seamless flow of contextualized data from the device & control levels, all the way to the top of the Enterprise. The ​Senior Manager, Manufacturing Data Engineer​ plays a key role in developing and managing the strategic Manufacturing data enablement, Integration, and data roadmap. This is hands-on role leading data management/enablement deliverables for the future of Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities within the Digital Manufacturing Organization.

The Senior Manager, M4.0 Data Enablement and operations Solution Engineer will lead the data governance through developing consistent data definitions, data sources and data standardization. This is a highly collaborative role requires close integration with Development, Site Automation, Architecture, Cross-Functional, Global Automation and Product teams. This colleague is self-motivated, able to take challenges and explores multiple solutions. You will be part of an exciting team that delivers best in industry solutions across Manufacturing.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ​Senior Manager, Manufacturing Data Engineer​ colleague’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support data management and operational teams across various sites, business units and product teams to identify data gaps and challenges, provide strategic recommendations to address them through appropriate modern technology

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and implementation partners to define and implement data management vision and roadmap for best in industry solutions across Manufacturing

  • Develop strategy for data operations, aligning with the manufacturing floor /enterprise data strategies and data governance framework to ensure consistency

  • Work as part of a cross-functional technical team to ensure a successful implementation of systems and technology.

  • Work with all stakeholders to determine a single source of truth and develop rules for the passing of data between the all the systems

  • Work with business units, application developers, security, and infrastructure engineering to troubleshoot, design and build application integrations that support critical manufacturing processes across operations, quality, and materials

  • Identify and document data governance policies and standards for data producers and data consumers

  • Create and enforce policies with regards to data acquisition, rationalization, maintenance and modifications for internal and external data sources

  • Manage project priorities including setting targets for.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required.

  • Act as a thought leader on emerging digital technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Digital solutions with at least 3 years in

  • Data architectures, ability to understand Manufacturing data flows and implement effective data management techniques

  • Hands-on experience in a bio-tech manufacturing and supply chain environment.

  • Data needs, integration and governance across a global organization

  • Experience in integrating manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, LIMS, automation systems such as PLC and SCADA, etc.)

  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, Industry 4.0

  • Experience working in a high speed, open and global manufacturing environment

  • Strong Knowledge of Relations databases like Oracle and SQL Server, Networking, OPC Servers, Historians (OSI PI Historian) etc.

  • Familiarity with a relevant and globally supported framework—both front-end and back-end

  • Ability to work across multiple concurrent activities and successfully adapt to changing priorities as required

  • Good understanding of manufacturing industry standards (ISA S88 &S95)

  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations, including 21CFR part 11, and good documentation practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in all stages of system and application lifecycle from value analysis, business case development, solution deployment through value realization and system retirement

  • Experience in designing PLCs/PLEs plus Historian data flow and integration

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Software Delivery and/or Scrum Master Certification

  • Experience in managing Digital L4 support queues and adhering to defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

  • Experience in all lifecycle phases of managing SaaS/cloud-based solutions

  • Understanding of supply chain, manufacturing domains and supporting technology including manufacturing and supply chain ERP systems
