The Role:

Moderna employees currently have the opportunity to directly impact global health through COVID-19 vaccine development as well as the continued development of mRNA platform technology to address multiple important therapeutic areas with unmet medical need beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. The Clinical Safety and Risk Management group supports Moderna mission to bring transformative mRNA therapies to patients and its commitment to patient safety through proactive safety assessment, effective risk management, and transparent risk communication throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance. To meet our commitment to patient safety as our highest priority we are growing the Clinical Safety and Risk Management team to ensure integrated safety signal identification as well as rapid signal validation/assessment including clinical trial data, postmarketing surveillance, and real-world data integrated with lifecycle risk management planning and feedback to risk minimization activities.

Moderna is seeking a programmer or statistician with extensive experience in data management and analysis for Real World Evidence inclusive of administrative healthcare data, electronic medical record systems, data collected in de novo studies, and spontaneous adverse event reporting databases. This role will provide critical support to RWE analytics for the clinical safety and risk management organization. Domains will include execution of analytic plans and advanced data management, subject matter expertise in available real-world data solutions, and the ability to act as a liaison between experts in information technology, biostatistics, and observational research methods.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Define and execute data management and analytic strategies in support of RWE for safety across multiple data ecosystems

  • Facilitate global cross-functional alignment on evidence-generating initiatives and support programs in data generation, integration, and dissemination

  • Drives enterprise data strategic initiatives from definition to delivery.

  • Leads cross-functional teams through project objective setting, project planning, execution, issue/risk identification and resolution.

  • Ensures projects are unlocking strategic use cases with alignment between the business need and the focus of the project teams.

  • Engages clients and internal stakeholders to ascertain their needs and ensure alignment with initiatives.

  • Nurtures relationships with and manages data vendors and partnerships to delivery of strategic initiatives.

  • Leads timely reviews and updates to senior leadership, joint steering committees, and clients.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • An advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of biopharma experience; medical affairs, HEOR, epidemiology, or clinical experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with programs in real-world evidence, observational studies, clinical research, and surveillance systems for spontaneous adverse event collection.

  • Knowledge and experience with analytics solutions using cloud-based solutions. Rapid critical thinking skills

  • Expertise in SAS, SQL, Tableau / Cognos or such visualization tools.

  • Skilled in life cycle process of data analytics from data migration on cloud (AWS) to dashboard creation.

  • Ability to evaluate various strategies for data reconciliation and storage, data analytics reporting, and analytical tools. Experience defining and maintaining best practices/templates for standardized program management, data governance, security, server, & SAS maintenance.

  • Strong business acumen: experience with concepts of customer/business need, value proposition, competitive differentiation, and measuring ROI

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional data initiatives and influence collaboration across multiple and diverse groups to implement new data solutions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization effectively at all levels
