Regeneron’s Clinical Histology Core is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Data Scientist with extensive experience in statistical and bioinformatics analysis of clinical biomarker data. You will lead and support the computational and statistical analysis of histological, image-based transcriptomics and proteomics data across different clinical programs and disease areas.
A typical day may include:
Lead and support bioinformatics, statistics, and data mining projects for exploratory data analysis and biomarker discovery
Collaborate with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams (biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, mathematicians, clinical and research scientists) to develop analytical pipelines, computational methods, predictive modeling techniques, and simulation strategies
Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee the aggregation, transformation, manipulation, and visualization of diverse histological and high-dimensional biological datasets as well as perform bioinformatics and statistical analysis on exploratory biomarker data
Generate disease and therapeutic linkage data and apply advanced analytics to guide biomarker discovery and indication selection, measure drug target engagement and enable data-driven patient stratification and response prediction
Prepare results and communicate findings to project teams, senior management, and external collaborators
Proactively screen the scientific landscape for new technologies and innovative methods, identify informatics opportunities, propose solutions, and support analytical needs
This role may be for you if you:
can collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to develop and implement new computational methods and data mining strategies to advance the capabilities of deep tissue profiling and biomarker discovery.
Have sound knowledge in statistical concepts as it relates to clinical data (e.g. survival analysis, Bayesian methods, hypothesis testing) and experienced user of statistical data analysis tools
Have demonstrated ability to work within a fast-pace and tight deadline environment and collaborate in a cross-functional organization. High degree of creativity, latitude and attention to detail required
To be considered for this role you must have a Ph.D. with a degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer science, Biomedical engineering, or related discipline and at least 4+ years of industry experience or strong academic record. We need an expert in data analysis and statistics with solid background in biology and basic understanding of digital pathology. You should have experience in integrating, manipulating and analyzing complex, large volume, high-dimensional datasets from varying sources (e.g. pathology, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging or clinical) with focus on digital pathology. Good programming skills in one or more analytics packages such as R, Python, MATLAB and/or C/C++ with the ability to prototype software solutions and analytical pipelines for complex biological data analysis. A background in machine/deep learning approaches for digital image and medical data analysis is a plus.
