Job Description

We are looking for a Research Associate or SRA with experience in molecular biology, immunological assays, tissue culture and animal (mouse) handling. We are looking for candidates who will work with our Scientists to develop therapeutics for cancer and autoimmune diseases.  You will contribute to discovery and pre-clinical research. You will help ensure the lab runs smoothly. You will be open to learning and acquiring new skills. You will receive training and guidance from Scientists and leadership at Flatiron Bio to develop skills and attributes to help advance your career.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular cloning to develop DNA and mRNA constructs Perform animal procedures and coordinate with third party vivarium research technicians Isolate primary cells from Human and Rodent samples Maintain cell lines Perform standard immunological assays including flow cytometry and Western Blots Analyze experimental data using cytometry analysis software, GraphPad Prism and prepare reports for study leads Keep up-to-date records in lab notebook software

Required Qualifications

  • MS or BS in biotechnology, molecular biology, biology, or a related discipline Experience working with animal models Proficiency in molecular cloning techniques Experience in immunological assays, especially flow cytometry Proficiency with mouse dosing techniques (IV, PO, IP, SC) Experience sampling and processing blood, normal organs, and tumor tissues Detail-oriented and has a track record of organized record-keeping Excellent planning and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a nimble, fast-paced team environment

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience with R, Python or other high-level programming languages
