OPPORTUNITY
Mammoth is looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer I to join its Software Engineering team. The Software Engineering team is responsible for leading the embedded, Graphical User Interface (GUI), and data I/O development efforts to support Mammoth’s charter of using innovative CRISPR enzymes in diagnostic products. 
 
The Principal Software Engineer I will  be responsible for leading the design and development efforts of software systems used to support Mammoth’s diagnostic products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with a team of scientists, engineers, and consultants to design, develop, and test Mammoth’s software systems
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle from concept through testing
  • Own and deliver complete applications and software systems including  the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Mentor and guide junior software engineer team members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science/engineering or a hard science 
  • A minimum of 10 years post-academic software development experience (8 years with a Master’s, 5 years with a PhD)
  • Experience with modern web application development (e.g., React, Angular JS, .NET,J2EE, etc.)
  • Experience architecting and implementing solutions in AWS
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture
  • Experience working on products that have been commercialized or will be commercialized within 3 years
  • Knowledge of project management and Agile methodologies
  • Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours with some flexibility
  • Ability to travel to our Brisbane, CA location

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working on an FDA regulated medical or IVD product
  • Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and IEC 62304
  • Experience in cryptography and cybersecurity concepts
  • Experience in healthcare data management standards and protocols (HL7, ASTM, POCT1-A2, HIPAA, etc.)
