ROLE SUMMARY

The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The Manager, Splunk Analytics Engineer will perform day to day support functions for the business analytics infrastructure and platforms. Specific responsibilities include work with customers to translate business requirements into relevant monitoring and analytics; development of reports, dashboards, applications, and alerts; documentation creation and maintenance; performance improvement through SPL tuning, search schedule rebalancing, field extractions optimization; customer incident ticket management and resolution; identification of automation opportunities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Data Engineering to import new data sources and define corresponding field extractions
  • Content design and development, including analytics dashboards, and applications ·
  • Configure reports, monitoring, and alerts
  • Build integrations with external systems (i.e. ticketing)
  • Operational support related to authorization and authentication, data collection, platform performance, etc.
  • Process incident tickets in accordance with defined support procedures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering
  • 5+ years of IT Experience
  • 4+ years of technical expertise with architecting, administering, and managing Splunk in large multi-terabyte environments
  • Knowledge of automation, scripting, and regular expression
  • Superior analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated successes in analysis, conclusions, and improvement.
  • Flexible to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-passed dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytical and qualitative eye for reasoning under pressure.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting multiple analytic capabilities in an enterprise organization
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Operating systems, services, daemons, containers, and VMs
  • Experience with troubleshooting and identifying root cause issues
  • Experience writing queries and designing dashboards in Splunk
  • Willingness to contribute fresh and innovative ideas
  • High technical aptitude; quickly learns new skills
  • Experience with Linux (configuration and troubleshooting)
  • Experience with scripting in Python
  • Change agile; must take action on projects quickly
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
