The (Senior) Manager, Biologics Stakeholder Engagement is a non-supervisory position responsible for the identification and planning of USP stakeholder events (forums, workshops, and trainings) and external opportunities to raise awareness of biologics solutions, goals, and to network and identify new business partners for materials programs. Once identified, the incumbent will work closely with sales, scientific, marketing, materials sourcing, business and product development partners as appropriate to coordinate and deliver programs and materials to completion and assist with lead nurturing. This individual will help identify new product opportunities and partners for sourcing materials and will assist business development and contracting departments to drive relationships forward.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supports the biologics program with the development of a strategic plan for stakeholder forums, workshops, education and related programs to build awareness of our solutions and best practices
  • Attends key scientific symposia to increase partner and customer awareness and knowledge, as well as increase personal knowledge of the biotechnology and life science markets.
  • Develop relationships with targeted companies and their executives within business development, research & development, and licensing units.
  • Via the stakeholder engagement above, supports identification of sources of materials and suitable partners/vendors for the biologics program
  • Assist in identifying and managing key opinion leaders and business partners who can help promote USP solutions and provide insights
  • Identifies media partners with greater reach to co-market or publish USP offerings to a broader audience and to capture new leads for further nurturing
  • Assist marketing and scientific partners to enhance marketing initiatives
  • Partners closely with marketing partners to analyzes market and regulatory trends and considers customers’ insight to expand on a variety of stakeholder offerings
  • Helps ensure that high quality, engaging courses and training content are created, marketed and delivered in a timely manner
  • Assesses on a regular basis existing courses and training programs and reports to management on decision-making for maintenance, revision, or discontinuation of these programs based on customer trends

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in biology or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 5- 7 years of experience in the life science research or pharmaceutical industry for Manager. 8-10 years for Senior Manager level.
  • Strong marketing or business development role in the life science research space

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biochemistry
  • Strong understanding of the global biopharmaceuticals regulatory landscape
  • Strong business acumen combined with an ability to deliver projects on time and with high quality
  • Excellent scientific writing and editorial skills including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences and to develop take-aways from workshops that can be used for further lead nurturing
  • Demonstrated stakeholders’ collaborative experience, with the ability to quickly develop and manage internal and external relationships and contacts
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and priorities
  • Highly organized individual that can effectively plan and manage timeline and resources
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Ability to travel 10% globally
