Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading and supervising the Program Management Department and its personnel, and for managing the progress of the drug development and commercialization process, from asset acquisition to out-licensing or commercialization. Ensures that project plans are developed in coordination with the Project Leader and signed off by the functional R&D Head. Project management includes communication to the broader management team, Executives, and the BOD on project schedule delays, deviations, and corrective action required. Project management must flag and track all risks in meeting timelines. For example, documents included in a regulatory submittal have been effectively quality controlled in advance, and that any risks or issues are appropriately identified and mitigated.
This is an office-based position that works in a cross-functional and dynamic environment. Clear, timely, professional, and effective communication with all HUYA functional areas and global office sites is essential.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Program Management Department and its personnel, including providing feedback, instruction, and discipline for personnel in the department.
  • Working closely with Project Team Leaders and Strategic Planning, create, measure, and communicate development program plans, milestones, timelines, and metrics for the Company’s development programs.
  • Record and ensure progress, negotiate with team members and functional leadership, and-working with QA- manage the quality of deliverables for the Company’s development programs.
  • Monitor policies around documentation and standardization of programs, products, and systems for the Company’s development programs by applying project management best practices and processes.
  • Track and analyze issues, and risks related to the Company’s development programs and proactively mitigate those issues.
  • Support development teams working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Coordinates activities with external business partners and alliances, where appropriate; contributes to achieving partnership contract deliverables.
  • Contribute to the communication of progress to goals; create and maintain trackers for project teams and meetings that clearly lay out tasks with individual responsibilities that are shared with all those involved or personnel who are outside the project team. Trackers should have sufficient detail to provide information at a glance especially for non-team members to serve as an effective communication tool.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

 

  • Good problem solving and facilitating techniques.
  • Requires previous experience working in a startup/small company environment
  • Experience interacting with/presenting to senior management teams, internal and external (CRO or partners)
  • Established ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues, and effectively manage timelines.
  • Strong organizational skills, proven effectiveness in a quick-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal/team skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education and Experience

  • Requires 12+ years in the biopharma industry with a minimum of 6 years experience in program management, with a proven track record of delivering clinical programs on time, and within budget.
  • BS/BA degree in life sciences.

The position is full‐time, and the candidate must be within commuting distance to HUYABIO’s Del Mar, CA headquarters.
