Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We wantall ofour people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

Intellia is seeking to hire a Computational Biologist or Computational Chemist to work closely with analytical scientists to improve the insights gained from their data, especially mass spectrometry data. In this role, you will apply rigorous statistical methods to derive actionable insights from internal and external datasets. You will build data visualization and exploration tools. This is a collaborative and diverse team of experimentalists, computational scientists, and clinicians. You will work together to address key therapeutic questions in a data-centric manner.

About You:

This role is ideal for someone with a fresh Ph.D. focusing on computational analysis of scientific data however, candidates with equivalent industry experience are also encouraged to apply. Additional role requirements include:

  • You should be able to write clear and effective code in Python and/or R.

  • Knowledge of Biology or Chemistry, especially focused on analytical data (mass spectrometry, chromatography, spectroscopy), and the ability to draw insight from complex data

  • Desire to collaborate with scientists from multiple functions in the company

Successful candidates will already have at least two of the following and a willingness to learn on the job:

  • In-depth knowledge of mass spectrometry data

  • Knowledge of the drug design process and regulatory approvals

  • Experience analyzing biomolecules either purified or in the biological matrix; particularly oligonucleotides, but also lipids and proteins

  • Experience modeling complex systems and machine learning techniques

  • Experience with cloud computing (ideally Amazon Web Services)

  • Understanding of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing

Meet your future team:

The Informatics team members typically fit into two categories, computational scientists and software engineers. Our computational scientists develop algorithms, tools, and analyses while the software engineers develop services and portals for end-users and manage cloud-based infrastructure. Together the informatics team provides critical support and design tools for Intellia’s R&D efforts.

This role will be the second member of a computational science sub-team focusing on the analysis of analytical data, primarily mass spec. This sub-team works closely with bench scientists from Chemistry, Pre-clinical and Clinical development groups, providing analyses, software, and insight to empower both basic science and drug development projects. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply a broad range of technologies from pipeline/algorithm development to data visualization to web development and machine learning.

Our team is based in Cambridge, MA, but is currently working remotely. If you decide to join us, you can expect to become a highly valued member of a hardworking and collaborative team. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team together to impact patients’ lives.
