Instrument Servicing Technician

Job Description

Opportunity

As an Instrument Servicing Technician you will take part in the assembly and testing of medical devices, Instruments being developed by LumiraDx Technology. These technician positions will primarily repair instruments that are returned.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Disassemble / Assemble Instruments as per assembly drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Modifying Instruments to suit specific purpose e.g. mechanical and electrical modifications, including wiring and adding extra circuits, etc. as required.
  • Program Instruments to specific software requirements, including modification of software.
  • Add and replace surface mount parts using soldering iron.
  • Maintain associated documentation for recording instrument repairs and updates.
  • Work in conjunction with the company’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Ensure trained on all appropriate procedures.
  • Conduct calibration, maintenance, fault finding and adjustment of Instruments.
  • Work within Hardware and refurbishment team to improve processes

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous work as a ‘hands on’ Technician with experience in a highly regulated industry
  • 2-5 year experience in the electronics industry
  • Ability to disassemble / assemble diagnostics devices by hand as required.
  • HNC or equivalent in Electronics.
  • Good soldering skills.
  • Ability to use test equipment as required, e.g. voltmeter, programmers, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong desire to learn and improve processes and procedures.
