Working as part of the Commercial Operations team at Waters, this role requires in-depth experience with a variety of measurement and research methods, reporting and analytic platforms, project management, data sourcing, evaluation and financial analysis.

  • In this role, you will support the Waters Commercial teams by driving insights that help stakeholders better understand pricing performance trends. You will leverage reporting tools and ad hoc analysis to pull out relevant data, provide trend reporting, develop KPI metrics to better understand holistic performance, and performs deep ad hoc analysis and “what if” scenario building to better inform decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional global team including key stakeholders across Pricing, Finance, Sales Management, & Commercial Operations to develop, refine, and operationalize as necessary metrics connecting commercial activities to business performance
  • Utilize multiple systems/sources including Azure, SQL, Power BI, Salesforce, and other analytical tools to lead in automating, streamlining, & delivering consistent analytics to stakeholders
  • Analyze data and provide important visualization and dashboards that clearly communicates complex data in a simple form to non-technical audiences
  • Apply statistical modeling methods supporting the Sales, Pricing, and Finance teams to determine impact of pricing strategies on profitability
  • Perform analyses that will provide a clear understanding of data and drive actionable insights
  • Stay current on the latest analytics methodologies, platforms, and best practices.
  • Develop dynamic tools to effectively respond to changing market needs and trends

Qualifications

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Marketing, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or similar. MBA a plus. 
  • Experience working with Salesforce highly preferred. Solid understanding of the underlying data structure of CRM systems.
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience solving business problems through analytics (with a Bachelor's Degree) OR,
  • 6+ years experience solving business problems through analytics (with a Masters Degree)
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience working as a global team member on cross functional program teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to succinctly summarize key findings and articulate a clear story with data and then translate to marketing/business implications.
  • Experience supporting pricing data and analytics would add value, but is not required

 

Capabilities

 

  • Applicants must be creative individuals with ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions, as well as demonstrate skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence
  • Statistical skills: This role also involves applying data analysis to solve real life business problems; therefore, it is important that applicants for the role have experience with statistical tools like R or SAS, as well as solid knowledge of programming languages such as Python
  • Computer skills: To perform the duties of this role effectively, applicants must have advanced SQL knowledge working with  a data warehouse. The applicant must also have experience using Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight, or similar visualization software
  • Problem solving skills: Applicants must be creative individuals with ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions, as well as demonstrate skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence
  • Self-starter: They must be motivated self-starter who can focus on achieving a set goal with limited supervision and have the ability to think ahead, consistently adapt and ensure on time deliverables.
