The Manager of Facilities provides a wide range of facility management and support services in accordance with regulations and industry standards.  He/she manages the maintenance of building infrastructure and its assets including utilities, systems, and equipment. This also includes troubleshooting of emerging issues to minimize an adverse impact of daily operations and facility’s functionality & integrity. Additionally, the Manager of Facilities may be responsible to plan, manage/assist and execute strategic Capital Projects with the alignment of GRAIL business growth. 
YOU WILL:
  • Hire, lead and develop a team of Facilities professionals with emphasis on GRAIL Core Values.
  • Own the facility infrastructure- its “all-time” functionality, integrity, and appearance.  
  • Responsible for ensuring all utilities, water systems (domestic, process, waste), gaseous systems (Vacuum, Compressed Air, etc.) HVAC (boiler, chiller, exhaust, HEP Filters, Fume Hoods/Bio Safety Cabinets, etc.) and EHS systems (fire protection, safety showers, eye washes, etc.) are maintained, operational and meet the regulatory compliance. 
  • Lead the installation and integration of the Building Automation/Management System (BAS/BMS) and administrate the system.  
  • Develop and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for facilities assets (utilities, systems, and equipment) and documentation in compliance with ISO 13485 and other applicable Standards. 
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)  for the site, that includes the responsibility of Work Order On-time completion. 
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the design of future facilities, including but not limited to lab, warehouse, office and other spaces. 
  • Manages vendor contracts for Facilities assets with emphasis of timely, efficient, and effective service.
  • Implement and advocate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program.
  • Manage acquisition and installation of facilities assets (utilities, systems, and equipment).
  • Identifies and implements improvements to facilities systems to increase utilization, efficiency, and safety. This may include, but not limited to Environmental & Electrical improvements (example: Carbon emissions reduction and energy savings programs, etc.)
  • Collaborate and strategize with other departments such as Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, R&D, Clinical Development, Engineering, EHS, Site Services, and IT to ensure company needs are fulfilled in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensures company compliance with all applicable local, state, and national codes and regulations and laws.

YOUR BACKGROUND WILL INCLUDE:
  • Experience leading facilities in life science or pharmaceutical laboratories environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in facilities management or comparable experience 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with Current Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP)
  • Experience working in Quality Systems associated with the facility that may include, but not limited to Quality Investigations, Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Change Controls, etc.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, Google Docs, and database systems are needed to perform the duties of this position. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills including good service orientation and effective problem solving. 
  • Experience at a fast-paced, growing company with strong emphasis on collaboration with internal and external stake holders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily activities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Building Systems Certification (BMS/BAS, EMS, CMMS, EDMS, HVAC, etc.)
  • Building Maintenance Certification (SMC, FMTC, etc.)
  • Project management professional (PMP)
  • Lean Six Sigma, or other Lean/Continuous Improvement certification 
  • Proven Knowledge/Track Record of Adherence to KPI’s
