Your role

The incumbent serves a leadership role in the Facilities department.  The primary responsibilities include the implementation of all site asset reliability practices in support of manufacturing and operating business units, resulting in demonstrable increases in asset availability and reduced costs.   Direct ownership of the site equipment reliability program and all associated assessments, internal or vendor supported efforts.  This role will also be the primary global resource for Medicago equipment reliability initiatives and Best Practices.

What your days would look like: 

  • Manages asset reliability assessments or reviews of process and utility equipment.   Provides technical leadership, facilitation and expertise for the reliability assessments. 
  • Utilize Reliability Engineering tools such as CMMS, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk-Based Inspections (RBI), RCFA, PM Plan optimizations, equipment history analysis, failure predictions and others to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and Uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain the lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment.
  • Establish and continuously review site reliability KPI data/dashboard ensuring that each business unit has adequate focus on their equipment reliability and supporting them with potential improvements. 
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and equipment problems that adversely affect plant operations (capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance).
  • Trains other site engineers or technical staff on reliability practices and develops a site-based network of reliability champions to support asset reliability at the site.

 

Preferred profile: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 10 + years experience, including 2 years in a Reliability engineering function.
  • 7 + years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of:
    • Data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills
    • Basic Materials Science including material selection and properties
    • Lubrication, tribology, and fundamentals of interpreting oil analysis results.
    • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
