Your role

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner Manager is responsible for consultancy, guidance, and support within client groups and business managers/leaders at all levels.  The role has responsibility for managing and developing other HR professionals.  The Senior HRBP Manager is a member of the Medicago HR Management Team and the Durham Site Leadership Team.  This role contributes to the strategic direction of the HR function and is accountable for implementing the HR strategic and tactical plan through day-to-day activities and directing or contributing to HR projects and initiatives.   This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited about growing in their career as Medicago continues to grow and succeed.  

What your days would look like: 

  • Integrate Medicago’s Mission, Vision, and Values into all activities to drive alignment and provide sufficient clarity to act as guidelines for decision making
  • Provide expert guidance and counsel to leaders on matters such as organization design, employee relations, HR policies and practices, employee development, rewards and recognition, motivation, and communications to optimize the investment in our people and achieve business objectives
  • Examine data and use the information to identify problem areas and opportunities.  Develop and implement solutions that enhance the business and are cost-effective
  • Develop and implement HR policy in accordance with business strategy and Medicago values; monitor effectiveness of policy and recommend changes for improvement, as necessary
  • Manage projects with a focus on ROI and client satisfaction
  • Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork within HR and cross-functional teams to raise the collective performance level within the organization
  • Manage and develop direct reports to ensure that their performance meets and/or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives
  • Serve as the single point of contact for designated client groups, working with them on the design and delivery of tactical plans and partnering with HR Centers of Excellence as needed
  • Key areas of delivery include leadership and team development, employee relations, performance management, and rewards and recognition
  • Ensure that HR practices comply with internal operational policies and external laws and regulations

Required profile: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of experience acting as a Human Resources Business Partner, including at least 3 years as a manager
  • Experience in a regulated industry (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of state, local, and country laws
  • Ability to provide results under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled relationship builder, excellent interpersonal skills, and able to quickly gain confidence and respect of others
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities
  • Highly proficient in the use of HR systems and MS Office Suite
  • Available to work on-site with a flexible schedule
