Job Details

Waters Corporation is currently searching for an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join the Operations team supporting the Liquid Chromatography Products within the Instrument Product Group, in Milford Ma.  This position supports the introduction of new products from design into manufacturing.   They will be a member of cross functional team developing analytical instrumentation in a team orientated and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design for Assembly & Manufacturability for new product development
  • Support product transfers from engineering development phases into production manufacturing.
  • Creation and support of assembly processes, bills of material, routings, labor standards, procedures, and PFMEA's for new product introduction.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes: first pass yields, productivity, and costs.
  • Identify design opportunities changes to improve manufacturability or lower cost on released product.
  • Technical support for global production sites.
  • This role will interface with functional groups including Design Engineering, Supplier Mgmt, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • A BS/MS degree in a technical discipline, preferably in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in operations, engineering, product development.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma manufacturing principles
  • Project management skills -
  • Problem Solving skills
  • ISO 9001, ISO 13485, QSR (21 CFR Part 820), GMP, or other highly regulated industries experience
  • SAP or Oracle experience
  • 3D CAD experience

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Customer Focus
  • Identify Value Stream
  • Eliminate waste and non-value add operations
  • Coordinate NPI activities transitioning EO products from engineering to production.
  • Develop build and test process documentation employing six sigma principles.
  • Develop Assembly and Test Tooling hardware in Solidworks
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage projects; product development / new product introductions
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively through listening, understanding and supplying timely feedback.

  • Strong ability to identify, prioritize, and drive project timelines
